Who FaxRx is

• Name: FaxRx, written as one word.
• Website: fax-rx.com, with a hyphen.
• What it is: a self-serve online fax service, sold as a monthly subscription and used in a web browser.
• Who it is for: independent and small-chain retail pharmacies, prescriber clinics and specialty practices, and telehealth practices that need to send and receive faxes.
• Where it operates: the United States. FaxRx provides US fax numbers and prices and bills in US dollars.
• Not to be confused with: TELUS Health "FaxRx Cloud", a fax add-on that TELUS sells for its pharmacy management software; the Windows process FAXRX.exe that ships with Brother printer drivers; or FAXRX, the ticker symbol of the AGF American Growth Fund Series T DSC. FaxRx at fax-rx.com is unrelated to all of them.

What FaxRx does

• Send faxes from the browser to 10-digit North American (+1) fax numbers: upload a PDF, PNG or JPG file of up to 10 MB, or write a document in the built-in editor, which can add the practice logo and letterhead and can save the document as a reusable template.
• A library of 12 ready-made pharmacy fax forms in 6 categories: prior authorization, prescription transfer, refill authorization, DUR and clinical notices, insurance and billing, and general forms such as a medical records request and a fax cover sheet.
• Receive faxes on the account fax number. Each received fax arrives as a PDF in the web inbox. Unless the account turns email notifications off, FaxRx also emails a new-fax notice to the account admins and any extra addresses the account adds, with the PDF attached when it can be retrieved.
• Email copy: when sending, add the recipient email address. After the fax is confirmed delivered, FaxRx emails that recipient a copy with the document attached. No copy is sent if the fax fails, if the document cannot be attached, or if the destination fax number belongs to another FaxRx account, which already receives the fax in its own inbox.
• Batch send: fax one document to up to 100 saved contacts at once; each recipient is tracked as its own fax.
• Searchable fax history, with the carrier-reported delivery status on every sent fax.
• Cover sheet builder, shared team seats and a contact book for each organization.

Plans and prices

• Starter: 15 USD per month, billed monthly in advance, renews every month until cancelled. Includes 300 outbound fax pages per month, 1 fax number, up to 3 team members and 1 GB of fax storage. Porting an existing fax number in is included at no charge.
• Professional: 39 USD per month, billed monthly in advance, renews every month until cancelled. Includes 1,000 outbound fax pages per month, up to 3 fax numbers, up to 10 team members and unlimited fax storage. Porting an existing fax number in is included at no charge.
• Enterprise: 99 USD per month, billed monthly in advance, renews every month until cancelled. Includes 3,000 outbound fax pages per month, up to 10 fax numbers, unlimited team members and unlimited fax storage. Porting an existing fax number in is included at no charge.
• Pages: one outbound page is one page of the document sent, charged when the fax is sent. Pages are counted per document page, not per minute. If a fax permanently fails, its pages are returned automatically.
• Receiving faxes is unmetered on every plan: received pages never use the monthly page allowance and have no per-page charge.
• Included monthly pages reset at each renewal. Unused included pages do not roll over.
• Extra outbound pages are bought as prepaid page packs, at the same prices on every plan: 50 pages for 4 USD (0.08 USD per page); 200 pages for 14 USD (0.07 USD per page); 500 pages for 30 USD (0.06 USD per page). Purchased pages do not expire while the account is open, and they are not refunded, including when the account closes.
• There is no automatic overage charge. When the page balance runs out, sending pauses until the account buys a page pack, upgrades its plan or the plan renews. Receiving continues.
• Extra fax numbers beyond a plan's included numbers: 4.99 USD per month for each local number and 9.99 USD per month for each toll-free number, added to the monthly subscription and prorated.
• No setup fee, no porting fee, no annual contract and no separate fee for the BAA. Subscription fees and page packs are non-refundable except where the law requires a refund.
• There is no free trial and no free plan for sending faxes. A paid subscription is required to send.

How signing up works

Signup is self-serve on the website on every plan, including Enterprise. No sales call or demo is required.

• 1. Create an account at fax-rx.com.
• 2. Enter the practice details. An NPI is optional: the practice can look itself up in the national NPI registry to prefill its details, or type them in.
• 3. Choose a plan and pay online.
• 4. Read and electronically sign the Terms of Service and the Business Associate Agreement. This happens before the account can send a fax or claim a fax number.
• 5. Claim a new fax number, or request a port of an existing number.
• 6. Start sending and receiving faxes.

Fax numbers and porting

• Porting an existing fax number into FaxRx is included at no charge on every plan. It is subject to carrier eligibility and typically takes 5 to 10 business days.
• The customer signs the porting authorization (letter of authorization) electronically in the app.
• Every port request is checked before it is submitted to the carrier. Toll-free, multi-number, partial and other unusual requests are always reviewed by a FaxRx team member first.
• When an account closes, its fax numbers stop receiving faxes and are held for 30 days. If the account is reopened and subscribes again within those 30 days, it keeps its numbers, up to the new plan's number limit. After that the numbers are released.

Plan changes and cancelling

• Upgrading takes effect immediately: the prorated difference is charged at once, and the new plan's extra pages are added for the rest of the billing period, in proportion to the time left. The new plan's full monthly page allowance starts at the next renewal. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Cancelling is self-serve: an account admin cancels the plan in the account settings. The plan stops renewing right away, so the subscription is not billed again, and it keeps working until the end of the paid period. Until then, the admin can choose Keep my plan to undo the cancellation. Cancelling does not refund the current billing period.
• When the paid period ends, the account closes: sending, receiving, fax numbers and settings stop. For 30 days after closing, an account admin can still sign in, only to download the organization's faxes.
• A closed account cannot be restarted from the app. To use FaxRx again, email hello@fax-rx.com: a FaxRx team member reopens the account, and the practice then subscribes again.
• Storage: when Starter storage is full, sending pauses but received faxes still arrive. Stored faxes are not deleted automatically.

Security and HIPAA

• A Business Associate Agreement is signed electronically during onboarding on every plan, at no extra cost.
• Fax documents are kept in private, access-controlled storage, separated by customer organization. In the app they are shown only to signed-in members of the organization that owns them and to FaxRx platform administrators.
• Connections between the browser and FaxRx use TLS encryption, and stored fax documents are encrypted at rest.
• Emailed notices and copies travel as standard email, which is encrypted in transit only when the receiving mail server supports it.
• Key account and sending actions are recorded in a tamper-evident, chain-hashed audit log.
• FaxRx does not advertise SOC 2, HITRUST, ISO 27001 or other third-party security certifications.
• A BAA and a fax service built for HIPAA do not by themselves make a practice HIPAA compliant. The practice remains responsible for its own policies and safeguards.

What FaxRx does not do

• No integration with pharmacy management systems or EHRs, including BestRx, Liberty, Rx30 and Computer-Rx. FaxRx runs in a browser tab next to them.
• No public developer API.
• No e-prescribing and no EPCS. FaxRx is not a pharmacy management system or an EHR.
• No faxing to numbers outside the +1 North American numbering plan, and no fax numbers outside the United States.
• No free trial, no free sending plan, no annual contracts and no setup fees.
• No fax machines, phones or other hardware.
• No phone support line is listed; support is by email.
• No affiliation with TELUS Health or its FaxRx Cloud product.
